This summer gear up, grab your weapon, and join the fray in USC: Counterforce

Angry Cat Studios & Firesquid announce the Early Access release date of their new tactical turn-based game: July 25th

Developer Angry Cat Studios and Publisher Firesquid are thrilled to announce that their turn-based squad tactics game USC: Counterforce is officially launching into Early Access on July 25th via Steam. The game already offers hours of gameplay and considerable replayability.

In USC: Counterforce, players are tasked with leading a group of Space Commandos in turn-based squad tactics combat inspired by the likes of UFO/XCOM, Space Hulk, and Aliens. The players’ commandos have been sent to a planetary body to investigate and take down a powerful alien threat. Players must discover the truth behind the demise of the planet’s colony and plan an efficient strategy to protect humanity from this threat. They will have the opportunity to fend off aliens with their friends thanks to a local co-op mode (Hot-seat or using Remote Play together).

Players that jump into the game on July 25th will have access to four special operations and an endless list of procedurally generated missions available in Single Mission mode. The developers will use community feedback during Early Access in order to improve upon and update the current features of the game, as well as any upcoming future additions to the final version. The final version of the game will also include a full, open-ended campaign mode with an adaptive storyline.

  • Assemble the Ultimate Squad: Prepare your team for every situation! Featuring a class-free system, USC:CF allows you to fully customize your forces and face enemy threats however you see fit!
  • Varied Weapons and Tools: Utilize melee and ranged weapons with various types of ammunition to take down enemies. Gather hacking tools, mines, turrets, and more to achieve your mission.
  • Fully Interactable Environments: Explore and fight in interactable and fully destructible environments. Rearrange the battlefield, build barricades, avoid and exploit environmental hazards, lay traps, and more.
  • Multiple Game Modes: Play alone with fully customizable Single Mission mode and lead your marines on challenging, multi-mission operations with unique goals. Don’t want to go alone? Venture into co-op multiplayer modes and play in classic hot-seat, or use Steam’s “Remote Play Together” feature to bring a fellow soldier along online.

USC: Counterforce is set to release into Early Access on July 25th. Players that wish to take part can wishlist the game on Steam right now to be notified when it goes live. Additionally, like-minded marines can join the community on the official Discord.
